The BLUF...

In 2017 from January 23 to May 31, I started a journey into weight loss surgery. I decided to go through Johns Hopkins and they clearly set the path I needed to go on, though it was up to me to follow it.

I decided to start this blog at the encouragement of my friends for a few reasons. First they said I was inspirational, which flatters me, but I just see myself as following advice set forth by my team of doctors, nurse practitioners, surgeons, and dietitians.

Second, after getting onto some support groups I realized that some programs were not giving guidance to their patients at all. I have strong opinions about this, but I will not claim to take the place of medical advice, but advice from someone who has been through it is better than nothing.

Finally, one aspect I've found to be weak in this process is physical fitness. Not just my own personal fitness levels, but also advice I've gotten. Ideally, I would like to change this dynamic and help others with their fitness goals.
